Steel readily rusts in air and water, whereas zinc corrodes in the atmosphere at only one-fifteenth the rate of steel. Galvanized steel sheet protects the base steel from corrosion by means of a dense zinc coating. Steel strip refers to a conveyor belt made of carbon steel, serving as the traction and carrying element in belt conveyors; it can also be used for bundling goods. It is a narrow, long steel plate produced by various rolling mills to meet the needs of different industrial sectors for the mass production of metal or mechanical products. Steel strip, also known as band steel, has a width of no more than 1,300 mm, with length varying slightly depending on the size of each coil. Band steel is typically supplied in coils and offers advantages such as high dimensional accuracy, excellent surface quality, ease of processing, and material savings. Steel strips are classified according to the material used into ordinary steel strip and alloy steel strip; based on the manufacturing process, they are further divided into hot-rolled steel strip and cold-rolled steel strip.
