Steel strip is a narrow, long steel plate produced by various rolling mills to meet the needs of different industrial sectors for the mass production of metal and mechanical products. Also known as strip steel, it typically has a width of 1,400 mm or less, with length varying slightly depending on the size of each coil. Strip steel is generally supplied in coils and offers advantages such as high dimensional accuracy, excellent surface quality, ease of processing, and material savings. Like steel plates, steel strip is classified into two main categories—ordinary strip steel and high‑quality strip steel—based on the material used, and into two types—hot‑rolled strip steel and cold‑rolled strip steel—according to the manufacturing process.
When using an electric hoist, adhere to the safe operating procedures for electric hoists; verify that the wire rope is intact and in good working condition, and ensure the hook is securely attached. When lifting steel straps, do not lift at an angle, nor leave the straps suspended in mid‑air during operation. Upon completion of work or in the event of a power outage, immediately disconnect the power supply. Use a 42 (32) drill bit to bore the end holes; the hole depth should be slightly less than the total length of the plastic‑composite rod, and the drilled holes must be clean, free of dust and sand, and straight. Before the anchoring agent has fully cured, do not allow the metal rod to shift or vibrate.
Before starting the machine, always check that all rotating components and electrical parts are safe and reliable. If any abnormalities are detected, promptly notify qualified personnel for repair. Materials on the work area must be neatly stacked, and no obstacles may obstruct passageways. Operators must wear appropriate work attire, secure their cuffs, and don safety helmet, gloves, and protective goggles. While the machine is running, cleaning, lubrication, or maintenance is strictly prohibited, as is sweeping the work area. Do not touch the steel belt or any rotating parts with your hands while the machine is in operation. Likewise, do not place tools or other objects on the equipment or its protective guard.

Two categories of heat-treated steel strips
As the pace of modern industrialization accelerates, mechanical equipment is becoming increasingly prevalent in daily life, and the rhythm of people’s lives is quickening. Consequently, demand for dairy products, beverages, and fast‑food items is steadily rising, driving growth in the heat‑treated steel strip industry. Heat‑treated steel strips are widely used across numerous applications, enriching the market with a broader range of products and generating substantial profits for many manufacturers. These strips are suitable for die‑cutting blades, etching dies, corrosion dies, substrates for large circular saw blades, machine tool guideways, railway joint plates, and military‑grade components. At present, large‑size, high‑strength heat‑treated steel strips are entirely imported and subject to stringent export restrictions imposed by the supplying countries.

Causes of Black Spots on Steel Strip Surfaces
The primary cause of black spots on the surface of cold‑rolled strip steel is insufficient removal of emulsion, which leads to the formation of such defects after annealing.

Quality Characteristics of Stainless Steel
In general, the required material thickness tolerances vary depending on the type of stainless steel product. For example, Class II tableware and insulated cups typically demand tighter tolerances, around –3% to +5%, whereas Class I tableware usually calls for a tolerance of –5%, and steel pipes require –10%. For materials used in hotel refrigeration cabinets, the thickness tolerance is specified at –8%.
